About Me
I live in a fragile house of cards, and yet I wish to craft something that lasts, something that begins in the very past and doesn’t end, but outlasts. It’s very important to know what’s looming, so we can change what we’re doing.
I’m Sahana Kaliyaperumal of the Looming Lore, and I like building things-- and our society has built a rather elaborate house of cards. The cards interest me because of the relationships, the cultures, and how society evolves rapidly, and unpredictably. These cards read our narratives, and stories about life, what life has been, and what life could be, will be. Join me, and let’s figure out how we can play the cards we were dealt, the “right” way.
My Mission
The Looming Lore is about connecting to humanity’s roots, what are your roots? Are they in the birds, the masses, the trees… or your glasses? Humanity has taken leaps forward, AI, VR, quantum computing, and the future is already here, running at us at full speed, a “sci-fi fantasy”. Science fiction also loves to dabble in dystopian worlds, will that be our lives? How should we connect our roots to our future? Will we be the typewriters to the computer? If we continue pushing, like we pushed so many animals out of their homes, their habitats, will we push ourselves out of the world we created?
What will happen to the squirrels in the forest of a dystopian world? Will they have trees to climb on? Will we ever need trees to climb on? When the roots of the tree cut off contact with the top of the tree… won't the tree die? Let’s anticipate the future together, because if ducks are free, they can waddle, they can fly high in the sky-- but we choose not to fly…are we just sitting ducks?
